UKGovcamp 2012: 1 month ago · ViewTech startups and SMEs – While you’re talking to each other today, have a think about the mechanics you’d need in order to form bidding consortia for decent-sized govt projects.
We need the whole-is-greater-than-the-sum-of-the-parts approach if we’re going to deliver more cost-effective services and drag this country out of recession!
Very happy to talk about this; it’s something that has good legs with Cabinet Office at the moment.

UKGovcamp 2012: 1 month ago · ViewOnline social media and volunteer engagement: I have recently completed my research project, a case study focusing on a specific wordpress/buddypress installation set up to promote a community campaign for improved rural broadband, I looked at the implementation and use of social media over time, and the perceptions of the members of the site in terms of engagement, participation and effectiveness. I would be happy to discuss this study with anyone who might be interested. Also I look forward to saying ’thank you’ to those of you who helped me with this project!

Have local authorities put this on the back burner because of austerity and other more pressing issues? Will the NHS be meeting Cabinet Office requirements to publish eg GP prescribing records? Is action starting to match the words?
Yes. Particularly interested in the state of local authority spend & contracts data and how to improve the quality.
I’d be interested to hear more on this.
Interested. Seems there’s an acceptance that this stuff has to be published, but not in context or in a way that’s easy to use.
