Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewI guess that depends on the timescale for the CESG process – if it’s likely to completed by, say, the end of the year it may be best to wait.
I’m not entirely sure what the testing/evaluation we’re having done will entail, but @davecoveney might be able to clarify.

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewI don’t see why not.
Firstly, I guess we need to discuss/agree what sort of approval ‘criteria’ we are going to be using. I assume you don’t mean full security/PEN testing, which may come out of the CESG review process?

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewThere was a brief discussion about creating a central list/repository of approved plugins, to try and cut down on the time and money spent by departments with similar requirements.
Is this something we could start on now? If so, I’d be keen to get involved, as we’re planning to commission some approval work shortly.

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewIndeed – fragmentation of comment and discussion; I believe there is an option to disable replies on forum/blog posts being allowed in the activity feed… Anyhow. Thanks, yes I’m aware of WPDirAuth which does what it does pretty well. We use that on our current internal knowledge management pilot; it doesn’t have enough features for [...]

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewHmmm – don’t like the way BuddyPress doesn’t copy a reply on the front page of a group to a forum post into the forum post itself.
Oh well – as you may have seen, WPDirAuth is an option worth trying.

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewYes, I’m interested. I’ve recently just rebuilt the site for Tuttle Club in BuddyPress (very simple, almost straight out of the box) – http://www.tuttleclub.org and have also built an extranet-style site in BuddyPress for a client who delivers training. Got a few suggestions on BP plugins you might find useful if you’ve not already discovered [...]

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewMy sign-in list for the (first?) Word Up Whitehall event, held at BIS’s Kingsgate House on Wednesday 13 October 2010. Note: a handful of people on the list weren’t able to make it along, for various reasons… but hopefully it’s a starting point.

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewHas anyone got this working?
We have tried two plugins with mixed success:
1) Simple AD Authentication – it works, but is simple and doesn’t really have controls/features we would like
2) Active Directory Integration – just doesn’t seem to work. -

Word Up: WordPress In Whitehall event: 1 year, 3 months ago · ViewWe are piloting BuddyPress for an internal knowledge management system, considering it as next Intranet CMS (if we can get AD integration working – see other topic) and proposing it for replacement for GCN (and poss other professional communities). If anyone is interested then drop me a line – we are currently considering some extra [...]
