In reply to - Tom Phillips posted on the forum topic Session ideas in the group BigLocalGovCamp: I’m sort of losing track of where this stuff is being posted, so sorry if it has cropped up elsewhere, but Helen Reynolds from Monmouthshire and I (from Kent) have been throwing around an idea of doing something about the effect of Yammer in an [...] · View

Like it. It would be good to widen the talent pool. You simply can’t come away from somethiong like this unchanged…
In reply to - Carl Haggerty posted an update in the group BigLocalGovCamp: Wonder if we should have a ”bring a colleague” aspect to the event…just a thought… · View -
In reply to - Dan Slee posted an update in the group BigLocalGovCamp: Oh, brilliant! Localgovcamp in Brum was my first taste of a barcamp. It was quite literally lifechanging. Me, @pigsonthewing, @pezholio, @mike_rawlins and @siwhitehouse did #hyperlocalgovcamp last year and if it was Brum I’m sure we’d be keen to assist.
epics like you guys will make the day!
#hyperlocalgovcamp was my first experience of all this epic stuff. People said it would make me think and work differently – Dan, you were one of them. And you were so right
Count me in. Dan is being a bit modest about his contribution to HyperWM. The same group of us have already started talking about doing the next one in Brum, so this looks like it will be it.
And we don’t have to do all the organising, stress about stuff and find sponsors. wonderful.
I’m more than happy to help out on the organising of this if you want any help
Yup – everything Dan and Si say above goes for me to.
Will we have cake, again?
And epics like you : )
Brilliant : )
Count me in for this if I am about

There’s lots of mileage in a Public Data Corporation kickabout. It seems the pace of things in that field seems to take a new tack every three weeks….
In reply to - Ben Proctor started the forum topic Design your own Public Data Corporation in the group GovCamp 2011 : Given that the government is planning to create a Public Data Corporation. We could usefully put some time into coming up with some characteristics that would define a fit for purpose body. Anyone think this is a good [...] · View -

GovCamp 2011: 1 year ago · ViewAn idle thought and an idea for a session. Idle thought: ’'Some of the best sessions I’ve been to have ended in a ’?’ as it opens up debate and ideas.’ Discuss.’ Session idea: ’How has Flickr been used in localgov / gov and how can it be used EVEN better in 2011?’

Oh, great! This means me and @mike_rawlins can re-instigate the epic press officer v hyperlocal blogger punch up that was one of the high points of Hyperlocalgovcamp WM. Actually, it turned out to be a really constructive session with lots learned from both sides. Good call, Jamie.
In reply to - Jamie Summerfield posted on the forum topic Session about Localism or Big Society? in the group GovCamp 2011 : I’d certainly be interested in a session about the role of hyperlocal websites and how local government can work with them. I’ve got a foot in both camps, so to speak! I’m a local government communications officer and I also [...] · View -
