Hi Dave – I reckon it’s after the Bank Holiday already – do you mean after the BigRoyalWeddingCamp shindig?
ah yes. does the wedding stuff not count as bank holidays? next week, anyway!
I think of the 29th as more like a day off sick. Thanks though. I’m obviously monitoring the wrong channels because I didn’t get an alert about the first batch of tickets. C’est la guerre.

shropcamp: 9 months, 3 weeks ago · ViewDead excited about tomorrow! I’d really like to run a session discussing micro-participation (see http://davepress.net/tag/microparticipation/ some background) which will be more of a chat than anything. Also I have a talk introducing digital engagement in government which some find entertaining and which I’m happy to do. See you all tomorrow!

we’re looking into various venues, their availability and cost at the moment – updates later this week hopefully.
In reply to - James Arthur Cattell posted an update in the group BigLocalGovCamp: Have me looked at venues yet? The council chambers or BT’s offices in Brindley Sqaure would be good starting points. Have used both before. · View -

I’ll just make the point – there *were* 10 minute breaks between sessions at UKGC11 – just that nobody used them!
In reply to - Michele Ide-Smith posted an update in the group BigLocalGovCamp: Great idea. Determined to make time to chat to more people at the next govcamp! · View -

Venue will probably define the date Louise. Working on it this week…
In reply to - Dave Briggs posted an update in the group BigLocalGovCamp: It has been pointed out to me by someone with a far firmer grip on popular culture than I have that the 25th June is Glasto weekend. Probably best to have it on a different Saturday in June! · View -

You know what to do come session pitching time, then James!
In reply to - James Arthur Cattell posted an update in the group BigLocalGovCamp: Just one important comment; less talking, more doing. I want interactive session a la Social Media Surgery and a hack day to solve real world #localgov problems. · View -

Hmm, good point – then what about the 18th June?
Someone pick a date! I know who my bring a friend is going to be if she’ll agree.

Lou. I will acquire patience
Hold it in Glastonbury. Take politics to the people. We can tunnel in one at a time.
I ”like” this
Glastonbury? Imagine the pics?
I haz a ticket :0)
Excellent, you’re organising then. I hope you’re good at digging tunnels.
Over the years I have jumped fences, climbed under them, bribed security and, my favourite, walked straight through the gate looking confident with my hand in the air.
This year I have a ticket. ’Cos I am old and decrepit an Mr Eavis has to build a wall that would do the Israelis proud to get his license.
You could hire a hot air balloon, I suppose.
*cough* Allegedly

I think (sorta selfishly and sorta practically) it should be in Birmingham, or at least central-ish, so folks don’t have to travel too far. I thought Fazeley Studios was a great fit at the last one, so if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
I’d rule out Lincoln for something Big like this, as it’s a bugger to get to. Birmingham worked, but what about somewhere like Nottingham or Sheffield?
Birmingham was a good location….i don’t really know the place so am happy to follow others guidance, although as Stuart says Fazeley worked well…what is the capacity
date: we had it in June before so think a summer date would work well…what about Saturday June 25th
Agreed with summer and agreed with Birmingham too. Easy for most to get to I think – well except for Cornish or Scottish people ;O)
OK, so Birmingham it is, 25h June it is. Nice work people.
Summer in Brum sounds perfect – but we don’t want to exclude anyone – are you happy with that Andrew?
Hey, I’m cool!
I only suggested the others for a change of scene but Brums nice enough; fairly straightforward for me to get to.from the southwest of England – Birmingham is easier and cheaper to get to than anywhere else pass Bristol….
Brizzol is like the South Wests event horizon, isn’t it??? ;O)
(Disclaimer: grew up in Somerset, allowed to make these jokes)Exactly – from this end looking out – after Bristol – it’s practically international
Birmingham sounds great to me – unless you all fancy coming over to Cannock?
I thought you were calling it TeaCamp? Anyway, count me in… Birmingham’s fine I’ll just assume you’ve discounted super-rail-tastic Stoke already (less disappointment that way) but maybe for one in the future
TeaCamp follows on from UKGC and is not sector specific as such…We are looking at a Local Gov specific Camp
