    I’m happy to let the session reflect the interests of participants! I think there are examples of very high quality and worthwhile scrutiny from within government and without, it would be interesting to explore how we could enhance and knit together the best of both worlds, as it were.

    Would anyone be interested in a discussion about open scrutiny, e.g. how the public can get involved with London Assembly investigations?       I live in a local authority area where scrutiny is a cosy little toothless game local authority politicians play with each other, largely for PR purposes. It seldom involves actually scrutinising anything, and usually shines much darkness on the issues involved. I would be interested in this session if its scope included strategies to get government to hand scrutiny over to real people. Sadly, I think we have a long way to go on that.
