October Updates: Dates, Tickets, and Becoming a Non-Profit
Posted on 01/11/2026 by David Durant
October has flown by. Here is what the UKGovCamp organising team has been up to this month.
Venue, date and tickets: nearly there
UKGovCamp 2027 will be in Manchester in mid-January. We expect to confirm the venue very soon, and we will announce the exact date at the same time.
Tickets will be available very shortly after that. Keep an eye on our Bluesky feed so you don’t miss them.
Becoming a non-profit company
We are planning to become a non-profit company very soon. There is just one thing standing in the way: we need permission from the Cabinet Office to use the word “Gov” in a business name.
If you know someone very senior in the Cabinet Office who could help us move this along, we would love to hear from you. Please email the organisers.
Tidying up our finances
Behind the scenes, we are tidying up our finances. As part of that, we will shortly be talking to HMRC to check whether we owe any back taxes, so that the new organisation can start on a clean footing.
Joining up with GovCamps in Wales and Scotland
We are connecting with the people who run GovCamp Cymru and GovCamp Scotland, so we can share what we learn and support each other’s events.
